Funk.
Posted on Mar 10, 2006 under Daily Memorables |This has been a loooong week. Im officially 32 weeks by Monday and due for my OB check-up and OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test), which would require 5 blood extractions (!) - I just hope the RMT who will be assigned to me will be OK, I know I have pretty strong, visible veins so there is NO reason she would need to draw blood twice.
Being 32 weeks also means “time-to-shop-for-the-baby” time. And I tell you, I got the shock of my life canvassing baby items last Sunday! We were in one of those rare moments when Edil and I were able to go to the mall without Matthew so we decided to check 1) the baby section to canvass prices and 2) the hardware and furniture section to check which supplies we need to install a shelf and repaint the room.
Checking the baby section was FUN! I was able to get a list of the baby items needed and was glad to see there was up to 50% off on most items until the end of the month…so off I go to the my favorite brand - I almost fainted!!! A nursing bottle has doubled its price way back 5 years ago!! The saleslady caught my expression and casually said, “First baby?”. I laughed, sabi ko, “Hindi, pero 5 years pa kasi ako nanganak, kaya nagulat ako sa mga presyo!” Not to mention, all Matthew’s items 5 years ago were completely free care of my MIL, my family, my relatives and many well-meaning friends. Seeing Matthew 5 years ago, he had the most expensive things - avent bottles, carter onesies, authentic Nike rubbershoes (MJ series), and branded clothes. Even his diapers were branded! My aunt would ship boxes of boxes of pampers from the US every other month….this baby Girl is going to be one poor kid! LOL. Most especially since her Mommy has given most of Matthew’s baby stuff! (Hey! I thought it would be a good 7-8 years before I ever get to have a baby again!). I still have the cutie yellow and green onesies from Carter’s though — pero syempre, I would rather want fink :P.
My sister, I think, will give me a baby shower next next Saturday so maybe we will hold off buying things up until the party. It will be celebrated just in time for Matthew’s graduation as well, so double celebration ![]()
In scrapping news, I seem to be in a funk lately. The pages I have been turning out have been less than what I have expected them to be, but I have lots of ideas. So what Im doing is staying away from the computer and NOT scrapping for a few days and will scrap all day come Sunday when I get off from work. Let’s see if that would be effective. I have around 6 kits (from my CTs) to play with and 3 LOs to submit to workshops I have signed up for PLUS LOs I want to submit in contests to, you will never know right? Let’s hope there will be time and creative mojo ![]()
I got to win a free paper pack from Mari K. as well! Thanks Mari!!

May we always make it a point to look past what is visible and always see through each other - past the pride, insecurity, and faults, and look straight through. May we always make it a point to to see right through what is important - in the heart.

hay naku…
my hubby’s niece was recently thrown a baptismal bash… my jojo got worried that i’d be inggit and all (kasi nga, naunahan na lang kami ng mga kapatid namin sa pagbibigay ng unang apo) and promised our babies’ baptismals would be as grand

eh mas worry ko yung…i want sana na sabay yung baptism and birthday para justified yung bash… kaso my MIL rushed na nga yung baptism of ‘our’ niece kasi ‘mahirap na daw’ etc (lam mo naman, superstition ekek)
uyy, tenx for the glucose test tip… jojo and i both have diabetic parents… i believe we’d need that!
