Boo.

Just when I had a lot to share, the internet at home goes down. Argh!

Many things going on with the family — health issues, (lack of) money issues, and just issues! LOL. Matthew was diagnosed with Primary Complex, and he has to be on meds everyday taking three kinds for six months. Everybody in the house needs to have an X ray as well to determine where he got it. Worse, when baby G arrives in a couple of months, she will be at risk immediately. *sigh* I need to have myself checked for gestational diabetes. Matthew needs to be enrolled for Prep School by March 3rd, I’m nearing my 8th month and I can’t even boast of baby things, our room is in need of renovation for it to be cleared up for addition number 2 to the family…and the list goes on….and on. We are holding up though, it is just one of these phases where everything seems to come at once and you are overwhelmed, but it goes away quickly. Like what I always say, just relax, and it will fix itself on its own way :)
On other news, we (Edil and I) are talking about our action steps for the coming months. He would need to stop school in June either to 1) look for a job, or 2) take care of the baby and I would either 1) quit my job and become a SAHM reviewing for NCLEX, or 2) still quit my job and look for a much better paying one. I would personally prefer doing Number 1 for me, and Edil do Number 1 for him as well, but it all boils down to whatever oppurtunity comes along by June. My parents are pressuring me to take the NCLEX soon (as in sooooooon), and to be honest, who doesnt want it to be over and done with? Heck, if money was not an issue I’d have just stayed home and reviewed and reviewed. But with almost two kids, it can be tough choice. I’m also not so keen on leaving Baby G if ever I pass. Im giving myself up to December this year to take it, by hook or by hook, and finally start our papers by next year.

I’ve been on a scrapping roll lately, with no internet, all I do was to scrap and scrap and not surf and stalk blogs. Edil has FINALLY appreciated what I have been “wasting” time on and ordered me to make a layout for Matthew’s first months so he can frame it above his PC, before Baby G comes. He also has been interested on all the grungy effects he has been seeing on my kits and have been borrowing my fonts. Heehee. When money stops becoming an issue (hopefully after the baby comes), he will be upgrading his PC’s memory and drive so we can have faster programs. My laptop has primarily served as my scrapping site, and he bought me a laptop table for my birthday :)
I have started scanning Matthew’s pictures and I’ve been such a sentimental schmuck going thru photos of my son growing up.

If you dont know, my son was born with prenatal teeth (I have to scrap those one of these days) but it had to be taken out on his 4th month since they were jagged and since he had little control of his tongue, he had mouthsores. This was inspired by this layout by Shabby Miss Jenn.

You know, with all these scrapping projects Im doing, Im determined all the more to preserve OUR memories. I need to take pictures more, even if Im not feeling pretty or if Matthew is in his dratty pajamas, and just capture everything. I have so many ideas on my head that I have a separate notebook aside from Starbucks planner for digiscrapping alone. It’s not about making artistic LOs anymore for me, it’s all about memories :) Making a LO is easy at most, I struggle almost always with the journalling. I need to work on that. Writing has always been easy for me, I have dozens of letters to my parents when I was a kid, and wrote sappy long letters to Edil when we were dating, and have maintained a blog for almost three years (friends only though). It would be such an emotional journey just reading through everything I wrote at LJ. Ha.

And like what I always end up blogging with:
If only work was NOT in the way. LOL

Good day, folks! I need to go home as Edil is worried I might be stranded with all the rallies going on here. Jeez, all this political instability worries, infuriates and scares me! Is there any hope for us?!

Stay safe :)

A Long One.

First off, I’ve added a new section in my sidebar - the Creative Teams I was fortunately accepted on. Yep, I’m now on Andrea Victoria’s Team! Yay! She’s Pinay too, but has moved to Seattle since she was 3.

I’m actually on a 4-day weekend since I decided to rest and take care of the house. Matthew is having his asthma attacks again — and we didnt even know it was already an attack, since he was having the colds since December and we havent had the chance to visit the doctor. Anyhow, my Mom finally got Matthew to his pediatrician and now he’s on round the clock medication on top of the lab tests we need to do. I actually am feeling guilty about it — Im supposed to know ALL the signs, arent I? (Im a nurse!) I thought it was just allergic rhinitis since I also have one (and our room is very conducive to allergy nowadays - LOL)

I actually haven’t shared any Matthew Bratty stories lately. He’s actually very independent and very “grown up”. Lately, he drives me crazy with all his never-ending Qs. He still has his quotable quotes and quips though - I should blog about it one of these days :)
But, I’m very very pleased with the layouts I did for Matthew’s First Five Years’ Album. We had his portrait shots on my birthday, and my heart melts to compare how fast he’s growing up! I know I’ll have a new baby soon, but, to tell you honestly, it IS true, firstborns are always somewhat special since they were first :)
Lookie, lookie!

Love This Boy LO23

These 2 LOs are all from ONE kit alone! Can you believe it? All elements and papers from Andrea Burns’ Lucky Boy Kit. (If you want to see the journalling and such, click on the picture.)

And I scrapped about my youngest sister, Agnes, too. I was supposed to do a LO about me for this kit, but since she loves purple, and it suits her, I decided to do one for her. This was a picture during our wedding and she was wearing a pink dress, but since she hates pink, I converted the picture using one of the actions in ATN Central. (Pictures courtesy of Fotogra Weddings)

Agnes LO20

The kit used is from Sarah Jones’ Marketplace, awesome awesome kit. I can even make a Matthew LO using the kit since it has a lot of blues on it too! I just used more purple for Agnes.

She is actually joining a fundraiser beauty contest which I won 10 years ago (EEEEK!!! I’m OLD). The coronation night would be around June, and since it’s been 10 years, we would have a big pageant night….that’s around a month after I give birth…so goodluck to me :P
And, final layout to share :) I joined a blog contest by Gina Miller using her BYOBB kit. I was a bit rushed since I just decided last minute to submit one (Heck, I bought the kit, might as well use it immediately right?), but it was nice I was one of those runners-up :) I received a paper pack with matching element from her new CD Collection! (Look here)

Family BYOBB LO21

And I’m off! I need to clean out my closet, replace bed sheets and curtains and ready Matthew the Brat for school :)

It?s a Hamburger.

Thanks for all the well-wishes!

I turned 25 yesterday. Spent time with my family, stuffed myself with Aristrocrat food, Caramel Coffee Crunch Cake, mango shakes and everything else.

But the good news is — it’s official!

WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!

And I have more updates and stories to come, I just need to go to work…pffft…so later :)

Happy Heart?s Day!

Times like these in the mornings are my sacred time. My boys are asleep, the sun has not risen (yet), there is total silence in the house, and most importantly, I have the computer all by myself :) Which means, I can eat while browsing online! Haha!

So are you one of the FEW people like me who absolutely dont want to go with the much commercialized brouhaha called Valentine’s Day? I live near Dangwa, and traffic here is so bad since last night when I came home from my OB’s appointment. I am one of those girls that do not require a date, or even gift, come Heart’s day. Yup, yup. Edil is pretty happy with that. Im like that because I prefer to be celebrating more on my birthday, which is, ta da! 2 days away from now..drat, Im getting old.

Here’s a little reminder that Heart’s Day isnt all about the flowers, and chocolates or fancy dinners and red things….it’s all about LOVE, and dont you just need it everyday? :)

All you need is LOVE!

Milestone No.2! c?,)

Without further ado, here’s my news: I got in to Andrea Burn’s creative team!! *big grin*

I’m just so plain excited and overwhelmed about all of this! Excited, because I get to work with these awesome designers and overwhelmed and scared that I might not deliver. Oh well, I’m going to be getting really really busy this week!

I need to:

  • organize my kits and burn CDs
  • finish scanning film pictures (most of Matthew’s scrappable pics are in film)
  • finish LOs, submit LOs to workshops/contests, etc.
  • clean out my closet!!!!!**
  • schedule myself for maternity portraits and/or Matthew’s yearly portraits.

I’m so bummed because the MMC for my camera broke and I need to wait 2 weeks for it to get replaced (2 weeks is tomorrow), but knowing how shops work here, that’s going to be wishful thinking!

Guess who is turning a year older next week?!!?!?!

I’m going through some reflections on what is happening with my life lately (I enter into what you can call quarter-life something ~ Im still not in crisis!), and again and again, I find myself so blessed and thankful. I’m actually thinking of doing an All About Me LO again, just so I can mark my 25th year nicely and what better kit to use than this:

*Sneak Peek snagged from Sarah Jones’ blog

I have 3 kits of Sarah’s so far and what can I say? Her kits are so versatile! You can use it for both girl and boy layouts and yep, she can make blue compatible with girls. I’m currently working on her Osh Kosh kit, and I can seriously make an entire album for Matthew’s birthday on this! I’m not really a purple kind of girl (I’m more of a pink lady! LOL), but the kit preview there makes me want to convert to purple, haha!

Can’t you tell I’m so hooked with digiscrapping already? From wedding obsession and preps to this! Waaaah! What can I say? I need an outlet to release all this creative juices, plus, it helps keep my life colorful as opposed to working 8 hrs a day and cooking and cleaning and taking care of 2 boys *wink*.

Now, if only I can take a leave of absence just for a day from work :)

I’m on my 27th week and all I can say is….”WHEN WILL THIS EVER END?!?!?!”

I’m officially having a hard time, because of all my 24 years on Earth, this is the first time I gasp for breath after 10 minutes of walking and hear my bones cracking. I’m really out of shape. My tummy is H-U-G-E and I have to pee every hour. My sleeping time is out of whack: I’m most alert during night time when Matthew is sleeping and sleepy when I’m supposed to working here at the office. It doesn’t help that the soles of my feet are cracking due to dryness (I can’t reach my toes anymore! WAAAAAH!), and I have to go to the spa to have it scrubbed.

BOO, this week has been a real drag. How could I ever make it to my 9th month still working is beyond me.

In other news, Matthew passed his examinations for Prep School! I just have to enroll him by March 3rd to guarantee his slot (which means money), but all is set. I’m set to handle that while Edil is to handle the expenses for my delivery (teehee, equal share, huh?), and as of the moment, I’m good to go.

Did I actually mention I’m working on my own laptop too? It’s actually comforting to work side by side with Edil, our computers are still connected with USB ports and external hard drives, and I still call out to him for technical stuff how-to (How do you scan? How do you back up? Yadda yadda).

I also have a new-funky phone! After almost a year being stuck on a Nokia 3210/3315 (I got robbed three time last year remember), my Mom gave me her Motorola as it was not user-friendly and settled with an Ericsson instead. It’s actually a clam phone, with video and camera and what-have-you. So text me people! Im bound to reply! Hahaha!

I was really feeling a little ugly the past few days so I searched for pictures that would somehow remind me I still look like me (haha) and this was what I came up with. If you have read my LJ three years ago, this was a most used picture! I love these pictures primarily because 1) these were taken the year Edil and I were separated and I was raising Matthew as a single Mom 2) I was using the time to transform myself, 3) Matthew was a plain Momma’s boy that time.

And you gotta admit, Matthew looked LIKE ME at those pictures :P

Horoscope (02.05.06)

Aquarius

It’s time to find work that you love, especially if you’ve been increasingly
frustrated at your 9 to 5 gig lately. Start small. Think about activities you
enjoy, or worthy causes you want to work for, then go from there.

I’m on my very first creative team!
I can’t believe it! I just got hooked last December and snagged a position right away! I’m so thankful Sarah gave me a chance. I’m going to give this my best-est shot :)
News here.

On other news, Mom, Dad and Abbie finally came home after 4 months in the US! Don’t start to ask me what they gave me, I’m just glad they’re finally home.
