Pregnancy Chronicles: Week 16

I was officially 16 weeks yesterday.

So what has pregnancy given me all these weeks?

♥ A bigger belly ~ which, if you think about it, comes as a blessing. People always thought I was pregnant before being truthfully so, so I have a truthful excuse when tactless people say, “Buntis ka ba? Ang taba mo eh!” And then when I smile through gritted teeth and say yes, they would always make a comeback, “Totoo? Parang pumayat ka ha! Ang liit ng tyan mo eh!” Yeah, right suckers :P (Hehehe).

♥ Gaining 4lbs c”,) This is something I actually would like to brag about, since I normally gain 5 or more without even trying, haha. My doctor thinks otherwise, as she would rather have me pack on most of my pounds during the last trimester. Pero sabi nya, so far so good. She gave me a warning though, that at next month's appointment, I should keep up with my weight gain trend and gain a maximum of 4lbs! Maximum na yun ha! LOL.

♥ With the point above, I still do not look that pregnant. Most of the time, I look like a lady who ate too much lunch and has too much gas :P Totoo, hopefully by the end of December, nobody would be surprised I'm on the way. My Lola told me upon arriving from the US, “Buntis ka ba talaga? Akala ko busog ka lang.” (Trust elders to be honest all the time :P)

♥ Physical appearances aside, how am I feeling? I'm feeling great already! Morning sickness and mood swings are almost gone and I can actually go out at night without exerting myself too much. My energy is coming back.

♥ I haven't felt the baby move yet. But I'm thinking, if my calendar is accurate (It's 95% accurate since I'm regular), I will be feeling little beanie move in two weeks. I've heard the baby's heartbeat twice, and it's strong though I haven't seen him/her yet. Maybe next month or January.

♥ I have started wearing maternity clothes though ~ maternity jeans mostly. Packages from the US have arrived (thanks to my sister and Glo for the clothes (and more), and my Mom who sent me a really elegant pair of clothes I can wear on Christmas!). I haven't gotten to buying maternity tops and maternity underclothes - nagmamatigas pa din ako, kahit na paulit ulit na ako ng masuot (kuripot - hindi, wala pang talaga pera! LOL).

♥ It's becoming more real to me each and everyday. And I dreamt of the beanie already, she was the exact replica of my sister Agnes with curly hair, kaso lang pango like Abbie. ROFL! Madadaan pa yan sa novena. Hahaha. (Segue: Nung buntis ako kay Matthew, I was a devotee to Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Jude. I prayed for Matthew's traits and his looks ~ kahit ano basta wag lang ilong ko, and Matthew was OK when he came out ~ better pa!)

♥ I attended a shower party for moms-to-be last November 21, 2005. It was a free party for Moms courtesy of N@W (Newlyweds at Work), and I have decided on two things: 1) I wil really make a commitment to breastfeed (I had plenty of milk when I had Mato but was only able to breastfeed for 2 months. I was struggling, my mom wasnt helping since all her kids were bottlefed (and she was agonizing about my breasts), and worse, Matthew was born with pre-natal teeth. Sayang!), 2) I need to actually finish Matthew's 5-year albums before I actually get stumped on the new arrival. :)
