I would know 'Tis the Season to be Jolly when?.
Posted on Nov 24, 2005 under Daily Memorables |1. The Brat gets all excited about plans for his upcoming 5th birthday (He was born 4 days before Christmas). As kids get older, the grander their ideas for parties become. First, he wanted to have it sa Jollibee na malayong-malayo parang Encantadia (Guess which show he was always watching?) c”,). Then, he decided he wanted to go to Enchanted World (aka Enchanted Kingdom). He then decided as if he was doing us a favor na swimming party na lang. (Buti na lang may resort yung isa kong Wawa.) We only found about his plans when Wawa Manda told us Matthew was having his party there. Turns out the kid has invited his cousins and had the consideration of informing the owner of the resort. Hahaha. So, for now, swimming party it is, with spaghetti, BBQ and chicken, and hotdog and a Power Rangers cake (yesterday, it was the Incredibles. I think tonight it will change again.) Simple party though. Just him and his (15 or so) first cousins - Aviso side lang yan.
2. The Brat, having seen more Christmas happenings already, starts to wonder why our house doesn't have a Christmas tree yet. I really wasnt planning on having one as we are rarely home during Holidays - we know all our first, second and third cousins (mother side alone) and since we are going to be spending it with Edil's side as well…Plus, this is the first time Mom and Dad (plus Abbie) won't be spending the holidays with us (nor in Pinas) so I feel we are just pieces of a puzzle scattered around the globe (-more on this later). Anyway, who can resist the Brat? I spent for it, Edil set it up and Agnes will be decorating it (she is a Fine Arts student and has a knack for these things. Me, I'd rather shell out the money, hahaha). Hopefully, it will be up soon. The Brat is having tantrums of having a bare pangit Christmas tree in the living room.
3. It's getting harder getting up in the morning. The 15-minute leeway time you give yourself to take a shower extends to 30 and 45 minutes.
4. You see capiz lanterns on Buendia.
5. You hear Christmas Songs everywhere. And I don't know, for the first time in my life, I actually enjoy listening to them. Edil has downloaded Jewel's Christmas album. Her version of “O Holy Night” is captivating.
6. You calendar days are getting filled up with parties, get-together with friends, and shopping.
7. You render overtime from work so you can have a sizable amount on top of your 13th month pay — like what I'm doing now c”,)
8. Starbucks releases their Xmas drinks, and since you are pregnant, you only get to enjoy Peppermint Hot Chocolate. And the Starbucks planner (Ugh! 9 stickers pa lang ako!)
9. Blogs are filled with Christmas Wish Lists - I don't think I have one, but who knows? One of these days, I might come up with one.
10. People blog again c”,) Welcome me back! Haha!
