Checking off things from my to-do list:

Check: Make-Up Artist.

Had my trial make up with Marlyn Padagas (Mobile No: 09156365599) last Saturday at my house. She was very very ma-chikka! I initially showed her what I want and asked if it was bagay with me, and she told me, OK daw yun. A full updo won’t complement my face (and body) since I’m big and my gown is…a little bit bare sa likod. She was able to execute what I had in mind for my hair, since I wanted curls na hindi Goldilocks and a clean face (meaning walang stray hairs), when she was about to put my hair up, she asked pa kung gusto ko daw ng “parang hinagod lang ng kamay” or “yung clean na look talaga”. I went for the latter and glad I did. The people in the compound where I live told me I looked great, but, since that day was tooo hot, I managed to make pahid half of the foundation off my forehead. I liked what I saw though. Edil loved my hair, and for once, my critical Mom approved. So with that, I booked her. With her price, I’m definitely satisfied already (3K for me alone since Im preparing separate from family.)

Things to Work on Though:
1. I’ll need better eye definition. But since there is a great chance I would end up crying, I need to explore other options.
2. I might have the updo lower, since I want something like this (see side) for my hair. I just don’t know pa what to choose. Might schedule for another trial with her come June pag may function akong puntahan c”,).
3. I might bring my own foundation. I’m yellow-based, so I need to research more on this.
4. I think the highlight under my eyes were a bit light for pictures…but it looks great (naks, hahaha) in person.

And you would not believe the price I got for 150 magnets, colored wrappers and monogram stickers! Below our specified budget. (I still have money for other good things, hehehe.)

Side kwento lang, I was at their office when the big rains and thunderstorms came in (busy kasi sa kwentuhan), Kerwin was kind enough to drive me to SM Centerpoint since I dont have a car. Ang bait ng couple na ‘to. They also know how to take care of clients, be it big time or small time (like me, hello, magkano ba kinikita nila sa orders ko unlike their other clients like PLDT and Chowking?). I saw their page in the upcoming WE magazine and naku, they will be in demand come June, I tell you!

~ Which leads us to another good thing! Edil loved our pre-nups so much he wanted to maximize the hundreds of nice pics! So he wanted to have posters of us around the location of the hall. I initially didn’t want posters kasi 1) I find it too vain, hehehe. 2) San naman namin gagamitin ung poster pagkatapos? 3) Mapapamahal lang kami. Edil deviced a way na pwede sya namin ma-display sa bahay and since Printed Matter can print it for us as 1p/square incg, if we are going to go buy 18×24 poster sizes, 432pesos sya papatak. Ok na din.

I loved what Edil did for the poster though c”,) Galing galing ng thart ko! Hehehe.

Caterer Update:
I’m in touch with Batis Asul, Center Table and Town’s Delight. All of which have catered in Caleruega already and within budget. Im scheduled to have food tasting with Eloquente, since a wowie (Rach ni Arn) recommended them. We are to decide once we talk and discuss with each one of them during the weekend.

However, our caterer actually had a talk with Mom and clarified that she wasn’t backing out. (Long story kasi, since all of us are close, when MIL was booking her for a party for one of her apos, she said in passing na “Nalalayuan kami.” sa MIL ko. So ang nangyari, nasabi ni MIL sa akin and then voiced out “baka napipilitan” lang sila sa amin.) Her only apprehension was the two day pay she will giving to the staff since they will be there the day before and the quarters they will be staying at. Solution presented was they stay at the warehouse my Dad stays in Cavite (kasi pag magbalikan sila sa Manila, dodoble gas nila.) OK naman si Dad sa ganun. The reasons why I still want to hold onto them are: 1) They really serve great food. Every function our family has had, be it big or small, they never fail to deliver (except for this one, nahaharass ako! haha!) 2) Value for money. Since our family are friends, she gave the menu of 450/head at 380/head, with salad, 5 viands, pasta, 3 desserts, free flowing drinks (much like the menus of high end caterers). Plus, she waived the OOT charge, Magdadagdag lang kami sa staff nya, which would be equivalent to a day’s pay (which is still alright = 300 x 10-15 = OK pa din kesa sa 30% OOT charge ng iba.) 3) OK na kasi menu namin sa kanila eh. Layout, everything.

Edil has given word na magbook na kami during the weekend. Pressure.
Pero, kaya yan, I threw a tantrum last night and my mom si helping me out this weekend (hahaha, parang bata no? Hindi naman, nag-inarte lang ako na pressured na ako, ako lang nagso-source out ng suppliers, etc.)

Off to my fitting later in the afternoon after I get my Betty’s Bodyform c”,) Wish me luck! I hope the gown looks good on me!

EDIT @ 9:30AM:
1. We went to Dapitan Arcade to look for tin ice buckets and what do I get? Pink and brown ceramic vases and supplier for pink and brown candles! I didnt get to buy pa muna, kasi I still need to finalize the look I want. Ang dami dun promise! Heeeh. Beats going to Divisoria for me.
2. Our cord is made and ready and I LOOOOOOOVE it! My cousin Pom was able to mix pink and brown fake pearl beads to make it loook so classy I’ll post pictures once it has been sealed already since she wanted my opinion whether to make a Swarovski Cross or just dangles. Since the cross costs an additional 450 bucks, dangles na lang c”,) Tipid tipid! The same beads will be used to dress up the ceremonial candles.
3. Had date with Edil to eat at Cajun’s and encountered super tagal customer service. Hindi na daw kami kakain dun uli. Too bad since I love Cajun’s :(.
4. Will be watching Star Wars III later. Best seats c/o SMART, hehehe. Since Edil works there, we have been able to watch Alicia Keys, and give tickets to watch BLUE, Ja Rule and the BENCH Fashion Show (Im still gloating over the fact I wasnt able to watch this!). Eto lang ang perk sa pagwowork sa SMART ni Edil. I wont miss it once he resigns after the wedding.
